Dr. Tanner is a graduate of Brigham Young University and received his doctor of optometry degree from
Indiana University School of Optometry.

While attending, he served as an assistant instructor, was published in the Journal of the
American Academy of Optometry, and received the Roy E. Denny award. He enhanced his medical training by completing internships
in disease and refractive surgery at The Eye Institute of Utah in Salt Lake City, and at Commonwealth Eye Services in
Lexington. Dr. Tanner also received a certificate of excellence for outstanding performance during his internship at
Wesley Jessen, the leading specialty contact lens manufacturer.
Dr. Tanner maintains
membership with the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, and Volunteer Optometric Services
to Humanity. For the past several years, he has played a key role with VOSH and I-Care International in providing annual
eyecare in Mexico. He also continues to serve as the president of the Northwest Society for the Indiana Optometric
Association.
