A Michigan native, Dr. Van Putten received his medical education at Loma Linda University in California.
He then completed his residency in ophthalmology in Loma Linda, CA. and a fellowship in oculoplastic, orbital and reconstructive
surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Cullen Eye Institute in Houston, TX.

Dr. Van Putten actively participates in continuous education seminars and workshops to
stay abreast of the technical advances in microscopic, laser and cosmetic surgery. He was among the first oculoplastic surgeons
to perform blepharoplasty (the delicate cosmetic surgery commonly referred to as an "eye lift") with UltraPulse
Laser technology and is one of very few surgeons with the ability to remove lower eyelid bags with no skin incision. Dr. Van
Putten also offers the most progressive techniques and equipment available today for both surgical and nonsurgical wrinkle
removal and skin rejuvenation of the brow, face and neck areas.
Dr.
Van Putten is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, Columbia Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital
and Medical Center, Olympia Fields, IL and has been practicing in the Great Lake region since 1991. He is a fellow of
the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American College of Surgeons and long-standing member of the North American Academy
of Cosmetic and Restorative Surgery and The International Society of Lipo-Suction Surgery.
